Canada Day, is a holiday celebrated on July 1st. It commemorates the anniversary of the Confederation of Canada, which took place on July 1st, 1867. This was when the British colonies of Canada, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia came together to form a single country called Canada. The name was chosen after about 15 new options were proposed but at the end, they were considered too eccentric, and they decided to become “one dominion under the name of Canada”.
